Successful recovery can be broken up into two phases, Medical Detox and Recovery Support. Medical Detox is the first phase of treatment in which a highly trained physician must safely access the situation and organize a detox taper schedule to remove the chemical dependency from the patient’s body. Once the first phase is successfully accomplished, then the second phase begins.
Recovery support is a very important aspect of ensuring a patient’s sobriety by introducing them into the appropriate recovery support community. This part of the treatment will help heal the wounds that have been caused by addiction, the same areas of one’s life that have been a major factor in allowing the situation to escalate to the point that it has reached.
