Opioid dependence is extremely difficult to overcome regardless of whether the opiate is a prescription medication or an illicit street drug such as Heroin.

Opiate Withdrawal Symptoms:

    • nausea
    • diarrhea
    • vomiting
    • headaches
    • aspiration
    • Flu-like symptoms

If the appearance of opiate withdrawal symptoms are present, if a dose is missed or not received, then an Opiate Detox will be necessary. Opiate withdrawal treatment must be medically supervised because the symptoms can be quite severe.

Outpatient opiate detox treatment is typically 4 to 6 weeks from start to finish. An opiate detox treatment program generally requires a total of 6 to 8 office visits.
